Arthur Christopher Benson (1862-1925), man of letters, was master of Magdalene College, Cambridge, 1915-1925. He was a prodigious writer of biographies, essays, literary criticism and novels. The identity of the other artists is not known.

Clive Forster Cooper (b. 1880), featured in no. 6, was Director of the Museum of Zoology, Cambridge, 1914-1937, and was made Director of the British Museum in 1938.
