The Senate Health Care Committee (1993-1996) is a standing committee of the Minnesota State Senate. The committee was previously known as the Senate Health, Welfare and Corrections Committee (1971-1982), and as the Senate Health and Human Services Committee (1983-1992). Senator Linda Berglin was vice chairwoman of the committee from 1981 to 1982 and chairwoman from 1983 to 1996. In 1997, the committee became the Senate Health and Family Security Committee, a merger of the Health Care Committee, the Family Services Committee, and the Health and Family Services Committee. At that time Senator John C. Hottinger became the chairman.
