Grace Rose Boyle was born May 8, 1918 in London, England. Near her eighteenth birthday, she immigrated to Australia to be with her father. She joined the Royal Australian Air Force at the beginning of World War II, aiding in the ferrying of American B-17 bombers from Hawaii to Australia. Boyle met John Edgar Beier while they were stationed at US Army Field Artilary north of Sydney. George Beier was born September 14, 1944 in Sydney. Grace Boyle and her son immigrated to the United States in 1945, settling in Lombard, Illinois. She became a US citizen in 1961 and passed away in 1993 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
