Jones, Fanny C., 1889-1974

Fanny C. Jones was born on 12 May1889 in Williamson County, Ill. She grew up in southern Illinois and attended Southern Illinois College for two years. She graduated from the State Normal College at Dillon, and taught school in Illinois for six years, and in Montana for thirty-one years. In 1913 she married Thomas Lloyd Jones in West Frankfurt, Ill. They came to Butte, Mont., that same year. In 1914 the couple witnessed some of the events during the miners' strike. In 1918 a daughter, Martha L. Jones was born to the couple. The 1930 census lists mother and daughter living in Hot Springs, Mont. In 1943 the family moved to Ronan. Thomas Jones died in 1953. In 1958 Fanny Jones retired from teaching. She died on 2 Feb. 1974 in Ronan, Mont.
