The Illinois National Guard Study Commission was created by General Assembly in 1981 to study ways to improve efficiency of National Guard and increase its membership; review National Guard property and facilities and investigate how they could be better used, expanded, or disposed of; and recommend legislation. It was to report regularly to General Assembly (P.A.82-571, pp. 2870-2871). Commission was abolished by Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984 (P.A.83-1257, p. 1175).
