Wheeler, Osgood C.
Born, 1816, Butler, N.Y., 1848, sent as missionary to California by the American Baptist Home Mission Society; 1849, established the first Protestant church in California at San Francisco. In Jan. 1852, moved to Sacramento, to establish the first church there.
