Anatomist and medical educator.

Roy Reed Peterson (b. 1924) received his A.B. (1948) and Ph.D. (1952) from the University of Kansas. He was National Institutes of Health fellow in 1951. He joined the faculty of Washington University School of Medicine in 1952, serving as: instructor in anatomy (1952-1955), assistant professor (1955-1964), associate professor (1964-1970) and professor (1970-). Dr. Peterson's research interest is in the placental permeability, thyroid and reproduction in guinea pigs, pituitary cytology, and cross-sectional anatomy. Sources: Amer.
