Adolf Heilberg was born January 15th, 1858 in Breslau (now Wrocław, Poland). He was a lawyer at the appellate court ( Oberlandesgericht ) in Breslau beginning in 1883. In 1899 he became a member of the Kammervorstand Breslau of which he was chairman since 1922. In 1909 Adolf Heilberg became a member of the directorate of the German bar association and in 1928 he became its vice president. Adolf Heilberg was the president of the Silesian lawyers' association from 1925 until his dismissal in 1933. As a member of the DDP ( Deutsche Demokratische Partei ) he was the chairman of the Stadtverodnetenkammer (city council) in Breslau. Adolf Heilberg was also on the board of the Deutsche Friedensgesellschaft (German society of peace) and the author of the book Bestimmungen des Friedensvertrags . On December 17, 1936 he died in Breslau.

Frieda Nora Heilberg was born February 19th, 1894 in Breslau. From 1914 until 1916 she went to school at the Academy for Women, a school of social work. Frieda Heilberg studied economics, social sciences, law, administration and psychology from 1920 until 1923. In November 1923 she completed her doctoral studies. In 1943 she was a part-time student at the New York school of Social Work and in 1944 she became a fulltime student. In December 1944 she completed her master's thesis about a study of the re-housing needs of tenants displaced by the Stuyvesant Town Project. She died in February 1986 in Wisconsin.
