Mountain Retreat Association (Montreat, N.C.)
Variant namesThe Mountain Retreat Association was established by Reverend John C. Collins of New Haven, Connecticut, in 1897. The name of the Association was shortened to Montreat during Collins' lifetime. The Presbyterian Church puchased the area in 1907.
