Ethel Winward Howland (Radcliffe A.B. 1905), secretary, teacher, and civic volunteer, was married to LeRoy A. Howland, professor and president of Wesleyan University. She was chosen woman of the year by B'nai B'rith Chapter of Middletown for her civic volunteer work.
