Carter, John, 1761 or 2-1829.
John Carter (1762-1829), clergyman, classical scholar, and Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. He was headmaster of Lincoln Grammar School from 1792 to 1820. He married Ellen Carter around 1787.
