New Mexico. District Court (7th Judicial District)
Torrance County, New Mexico was established in 1903 and formed part of the 2nd Judicial District of the United States Territorial Court in New Mexico. In subsequent years, Torrance County was transferred from the 2nd to the 6th Judicial District (1904), from the 6th to the 1st Judicial District (1909), from the 1st to the 3rd Judicial District (1912), and from the 3rd to the 7th Judicial District (1941). Upon statehood in 1912, the Territorial Courts became the New Mexico District Courts.

With the occupation of New Mexico in 1846 by the United States, seven political subdivision established by Mexico in 1844 were recognized as counties under the Kearny Code of Laws. Valencia County was one of these seven original counties. New Mexico remained under a military form of government until September 9, 1850, when an act of Congress established the Territory of New Mexico. On January 9, 1852, the boundaries of the counties were fixed by an act of the Territorial Legislative Assembly. Valencia County, New Mexico was created in 1852. Valencia County, New Mexico was placed in the 3rd Judicial District of the United States Territorial Courts in New Mexico in 1846. In subsequent years, Valencia County was transferred from the 3rd to the 2nd Judicial District (1863), from the 2nd to the 7th Judicial District (1909), and from the 7th to the 13th Judicial District (1971). Upon statehood in 1912, the Territorial Courts became the New Mexico District Court.

Sierra County, New Mexico was established in 1884 and formed part of the 2nd Judicial District of the United States Territorial Courts in New Mexico. In subsequent years Sierra County was transferred from the 2nd to the 3rd Judicial District (1889) and from the 3rd to the 7th Judicial District (1909). Upon statehood in 1912, the Territorial Courts became the New Mexico District Courts.

Socorro County, New Mexico was established in 1850 and formed part of the 3rd Judicial District of the United States Territorial Courts in New Mexico. In subsequent years Socorro County was transferred from the 3rd to the 2nd Judicial District (1868), from the 2nd to the 5th Judicial District (1889), and from the 5th to the 7th Judicial District (1909). Upon statehood in 1912, the Territorial Courts became the New Mexico District Courts.
