The Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales, today, is held annually on alternate years in various locations in north and south Wales. In 1924, the festival was held at Pont-y-pwl in Monmouthshire. The two major competitions, the Chair and the Crown, were won by Cynan and E. Prosser Rhys, respectively.
Mr Robert Stephen of Colwyn Bay, north Wales, the creator of this unit, was the General Secretary of the Eisteddfod in 1924.
