John Page was born 17 April 1743, the son of Mann Page and Alice (Grymes) Page. He attended the College of William and Mary and was a close friend of Thomas Jefferson. He married Frances Burwell and secondly, Margaret Lowther. He served as a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses, on the Council, on the Committee of Safety and as governor. He also served in the U.S. Congress. Page died 11 October 1808.
