Erected in 1878 in Florida by the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.; divided in 1890 to form the Presbytery of Suwanee; divided in 1928 to form the presbyteries of Miami and Tampa, which rejoined St. Johns in 1932; divided in 1955 to form the presbyteries of the Everglades and Westminster; continued by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) after 1983.

The Presbytery of St. Johns was erected in 1878 by the Presbyterian Church in the U.S. It divided in 1928 to form St. Johns, Tampa and Miami presbyteries, but was reconstructed in 1932. It divided again in 1955 to form St. Johns, Everglades and Westminster presbyteries. St. Johns was continued by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) after 1983.
