Variant namesThe Tennessee Federation of Labor was organized in 1898 and held annual conventions until 1956. In December of 1955, the executive boards of the Tennessee Federation of Labor and the Tennessee State Labor Council CIO agreed to merge and in 1956 formed the AFL-CIO, Tennessee State Labor Council.
