• 1898, Sept. 12: Born, Kraków, Poland; raised from early childhood in Berlin, Germany
• Circa 1919: Began analytic training with Edward Bibring and Hans Lampl
• 1924 - 1939 : Participated in a child seminar directed by Otto Fenichel at the Berlin Psychoanalytic Institute, Berlin, Germany
• Circa 1929: Began working with Anna Freud in developing psychoanalytic therapy for children, Vienna, Austria
• Circa 1938: Immigrated to the United States, where she established a psychoanalytic practice in New York, N.Y.
• 1971, Sept. 5: Died, Vinalhaven, Maine
