Smith, William Wragg, 1808-1875
Variant namesA South Carolina plantation owner, naturalist, and linguist, William Wragg Smith was the son of William Loughton Smith (1758-1812) and Charlotte Wragg, daughter of William Wragg (1714-1777). He died at Astoria, N.Y. in 1875.
