Harris, Don Laphene, 1911-.
Harris was born in Soda Springs, Idaho on September 19, 1911. He graduated from Utah State University in 1933 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Bureau of Public Roads, Forest Service, Coastal Genetic Survey and the United States Geological Survey. On assignment in Green River, Utah he met Norman Nevills and became interested in river running. He eventually started his own river running company "Harris Boat Trips."
