Miner, rancher and pioneer. Resident of Canon City, Colorado. Born 1847 in Ohio and moved to Colorado with his father in 1860 to participate in the Colorado Gold Rush. Settled in Canon City in 1860, and secured "squatter's right" to a ranch at the head of Oak Creek Canon in 1870.
