A.D. Waller was born in 1856 in Paris to the eminent physiologist A. V. Waller. Following in his father's footsteps, Waller went on to be elected to the Royal Society and become the Director of the Physiological Laboratory at the University of London. He held similar posts in Paris, Moscow, Rome and Belgium. He died in 1922. No information on his son, William Waller, was available at the time of compilation.
