Nyack College, founded in 1882 by Reverend Albert Benjamin Simpson (1843-1919) to train Christian missionaries and lay workers, was known as the Missionary Training Institute of the Christian and Missionary Alliance until 1956. In 1972 it became Nyack College and offered a liberal arts degree as well as theological studies.
