The Association was officially recognized by the Los Angeles County Medical Association in 1920, though the group held an informal meeting in 1918 to resolve their intention of becoming a recognized section of LACMA. In the 1940s, the Association held its first annual Congress - a conference at which members shared urologic research. In 1946 the Association changed their name to the Los Angeles Urological Society. As the decades progressed, the Society furthered its commitment to medical research and education, and grew in their membership. At the time of cataloging, the Los Angeles Urological Society was still active.
