Coeur d’Alene (Idaho)
In 1879, Fort Coeur d’Alene was established near the site of the present city of Coeur d’Alene, ID. The garrison provided an impetus for the development of a town. In 1883, C. F. Yeaton purchased part of the townsite from the Northern Pacific Railroad, and Tony Tubbs staked off his homestead into town lots. The town was incorporated in 1887.
