Noah Webster: lexicographer; published A Compendious Dictionary of the English Language, 1806; published An American Dictionary of the English Language, 1828.
William Greenleaf Webster: engaged with his father, Noah Webster, in getting out the second edition of the Dictionary, 1840-1841; assisted Chauncey A. Goodrich in getting out another edition in 1847; publisher of dictionary in 1856.
