Brisco, William

William Brisco was a member of the United States Exploring Expedition, 1838-1842 (Senior commander Charles Wilkes). He served as an armourer. Sailing onboard the sloop of war Vincennes and store ship Relief he was part of an expedition which undertook hydrographical and exploratory voyages. The expedition consisted of six ships in total. The published charts of the expedition were the earliest to use the term Antarctic Continent.
