Within the Women's Mission Society (WMS), there were nine geographic districts. It was through these districts that the national organization received contributions from member women's groups. In 1940 the office of district representative was created. These representatives were members of the Executive Board. District organizations met regularly, kept financial records, and some even published newsletters. By 1957, constitutions were enacted for district-level WMS.
