Price, J. W., b. 1773.
John W. Price was born in 1773 and was apprenticed to a surgeon apothecary in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, from 1790 to 1796. He undertook further training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin until 1798 when he was appointed surgeon to the convict transport Minerva.
