James, Edwin Warley, 1877-
Edwin Warley James (1877-1967), a 1901 graduate of Harvard, was district engineer for the Bureau of Public Works in Manilla, Philippines, from 1907-1909. From 1910-1953 he was a highway engineer with the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads and spent from 1930-1953 as the chief engineer for the Pan American Highway, working in Central America.
