The Young Peoples Synagogue or Bohnai Yisrael, was organized in 1946 as a way to promote traditional Judaism, to encourage young men and women to participate in their congregation, to stimulate activity in the Jewish community, to strengthen international Jewish ties, and to exemplify Jewish principles in their community. This orthodox congregation is located in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh (Pa.).
