Parker family.
Jean Parker was an educator in San Francisco from 1861 until retirement in 1901. The Jean Parker Grammar School was named for her. The school building was destroyed once in 1906 and again in 1989 following earthquakes. In 1991 a time capsule was discovered from 1911 when the school was being rebuilt.
W.L. McEwen, husband of Annie Parker, served in the Calif. Battalion and then the Second Mass. Cavalry during the American Civil War.
