Fisk, Royal.

Hide Profile

Fisk (whose relatives variously use the last name Fiske), appears to have moved west to San Francisco from the Philadelphia area (Old Town, Lowell, Peterboro, and Harrisville are most often on the letterheads). Most correspondence is from his family, 1852-1865. He probably becomes involved with a legal firm; the third folder contains a lengthy letter, 1859, from an Alfred C. [Loud?] with evidence for a trial.

Royal Fisk was the founder and owner of the old Fisk Hotel in Silver Mountain, California. In 1885 the Fisk Hotel was dismantled and moved to Markleesville, California where it became the Alpine Hotel.
