Held a number of public offices in St. Clair, Mich.; 1851, trustee; 1852-56, mayor; 1857, trustee; 1858, officer of the Fractional Union School District No. 1; 1862, supervisor of St. Clair Twp., 1870-1872, mayor of St. Clair.
