Nelson Richmond "Red" Korb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was an active student at Penn State, graduating with a degree in industrial engineering in 1921. Korb was active in student organizations, a member of the football and baseball teams, the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, student government, and several honors societies, such as Lion's Paw, Druids, Sphinx, Skull and Bones and Parmi Nous. He also served as class treasurer and class vice president. He later worked for the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
