Virginia Midland Railway Company
Reorganized in 1881 from Washington City, Virginia Midland, and Great Southern Railway Company; part of Richmond and Danville system (1881-1894); consolidated with Southern Railway Company (1894-1898); main line ran from Alexandria to Orange, Va., and from Charlottesville to Danville, Va. (203 miles).
