Captain Ethel A. Booth enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps (ANC) 19 July 1941 at Camp Davis, NC. She was transferred to Camp Sutton, NC in April 1942 and promoted to First Lieutenant in October. On 27 January 1943, she was reassigned to 157th Station Hospital at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. She returned to Camp Sutton in September for basic training and was promoted to Captain in March 1944. In December 1944, she was sent to Lawson General Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. and 31 March was shipped to the Africa-Middle-East Theater of Operations (AMET), Camp Russell B. Huckstep, Egypt, with the 38th General Hospital. After reassignment to the 56th General Hospital, with no change of station, she left AMET 11 December 1945 and arrived in the United States 26 December 1945. She was out processed on 10 January 1946 and officially discharged 21 March 1946.
