The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Off Campus Student Association (OCSA) first appears in Techmila, RIT's yearbook, in 1988. The group was formed to serve the needs of RIT's commuter population. Prior to this, the RIT Commuter Association filled this role. OCSA provided commuters with access to resources such as lockers and on-campus kitchens, planned functions such as lectures and trips, and brought commuter student concerns to the attention of RIT's administration. In 1996, the group was renamed the Off Campus and Apartment Student Association. As of 2011, it continued to serve the RIT population.
