Dumbarton Rope Work Co (rope and sail manufacturers: fl.1877: Dumbarton, West Dumbartonshire, Scotland)
In 1877 a group of shipbuilders and engineers, including Anthony and John Inglis, William Denny and David Croll of Amsterdam, Netherlands, took over the business of the Dumbarton rope and sail-maker John Hamilton, which had been known as Hamilton & Co . The new business was known as the Dumbarton Rope Work Co and its first manager was David Croll of Amsterdam.
