Fox was from Breckenridge (Mich.). She attended CMU at least from 1920 through 1922. While at CMU, Fox was a member of the Warriner Literary Society, Girl's Social League, the YWCA, the Chippewa Board, and served as her class secretary in 1922. In 1922 Fox was awarded a Life Teaching Certificate. After graduation, she taught at Maple Rapids High School (Mich.) and served as the principal at Middleton High School (Mich.)
