Brannon was a lawyer, Southern Baptist lay preacher and evangelist; born April 14, 1912; converted and preached first sermon, 1932; conducted revivals, 1953- ; conducted first radio broadcast, 1938; ordained by Southern Baptists, 1945; appointed full-time Southern Baptist evangelist, 1949; was editor of SOUL WINNER'S NEW TESTAMENT, King James Version, 1959, followed by editions of other translations; established CBEA, 1974.
