Garland Family.
The Garland family resided in Lynchburg, Virginia. Samuel Garland (1789-1861) and his nephew Samuel Garland, Jr. (1830-1862) were lawyers, and had a partnership with John Flaval Slaughter. Maurice Garland was the brother of the elder Samuel and father of the younger one. George T. Williams was a tobacconist in Lynchburg.
