James, W. E. (William Edward), 1882-1954.
A farmer from Harcourt, Vic., James served in the 66th Infantry prior to the war. He enlisted as a captain in the 24th Battalion, was promoted to lieutenant-colonel and awarded the Distinguished Service Order and Bar. He was a member of the Independent Order of Rechabites from 1900.
