LaPorte, Arthur T., 1926-
Arthur T. LaPorte (1926- ) of Comstock, New York, served in the Marines during World War II and in Korea. He was born in Rome, N.Y. in 1926 and grew up in Comstock, N.Y. He joined the Marine Corps in 1943. He was wounded on the island of Iwo Jima in the Pacific. He volunteered for the Korean War and while serving there was wounded a second time. In 1956 he owned a restaurant in Whitehall, N.Y.
