Hide Profile

The congregation was established as a mission congregation of the American Lutheran Church on August 4,1980 in Federal Way, Washington. The church building was completed in 1985. Family of God Lutheran Church was partnered with Immanuel Lutheran Church. It grew steadily in membership and support in the first ten years of its establishment, mainly from the leadership of their pastor, James Christianson. With the departure of Christianson there was steady conflict between the pastors and the congregation. Over the years, they also rented out space to a Korean congregation. In the later 1990s the congregation renewed their dedication to the church and started to raise themselves out of debt. Thye wre not successful and the congregation closed in 1999.
