Carl Wadsworth Scovel (1866-1932); Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. pastor in Baltimore, Md. and Cortland, N.Y.; married to Louise Gilman Kiehle; only child, Frederick, born 1902.

Frederick Gilman Scovel (1902- ); Presbyterian medical missionary in China and India with his wife Myra Scott Scovel (1905- ), a nurse; assigned 1930 to a hospital in Shantung Province; interned, then deported by the Japanese in 1943; returned to China, this time to Anhwei Province, in 1946; tranferred to the Hackett Medical Center in Canton in 1948; forced out by the Chinese Communists in 1951; posted to India Mission in 1953, as professor at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana; returned to the U.S. in 1959; private practice in Stony Point, in Stony Point, N.Y.; Myra Scovel wrote several books, some based on her family's China and India experiences and some written for children.
