Omega Psi Phi was an early African American men's fraternity, originating at Howard University in 1911. The Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi was founded at Penn State in 1921 and was the first black organization on Penn State's campus. This fraternity sponsored the Miss Black Penn State pageant and participated in the Black Male Summit. Its service endeavors include donations to the United Negro College Fund, annual food drives, national high school essay contests, and other programs.
