California farmer and vintner, Eugene M. Weaver (1879-1956), apparently made a trip to Seattle, Washington and British Columbia, Canada during the summer of 1909, around the time of his marriage to Zana Taylor. Originally born in Circleville, Ohio, Weaver moved with his wife to Sonoma County, California in 1911. He operated and maintained an orchard and vineyard in the Dry Creek district until one year before his death.
