Lee, Robert De Forest
Robert De Forest Lee was born about 1838 in Pennsylvania and raised in Morris County, New Jersey where his family lived. Sometime before March 1860 he moved to Indianapolis to work with his uncle in the lumber business. In 1861 he mustered into the Indiana Third Cavalry and his company left Indianapolis at the end of November for Kentucky. Lee's military career and life were cut short when in December of 1861 he died in a hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
