Ivask, I︠U︡riĭ
George Pavlovich Ivask, an Estonian author, literary editor and critic, and scholar, emigrated to the United States in 1949 with his wife Tamara Georgievna. He was born in Moscow, but his parents moved back to Estonia where he was raised. Ivask taught Russian literature and language at Harvard and later at the University of Kansas, the University of Washington, and finally the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Based on the papers, George Ivask was born in 1907, not 1910 as stated in other sources; he died in 1986.
