February 26, 1866 authorized to build a railroad from the village of Ionia, MI via countries of Ionia, Clinton and Ingham to the city of Lansing, MI. February 5, 1869 authorized route changed to start in Lansing, MI, via counties of Ingham, Clinton, Eaton, Ionia, Montcalm, Newaygo and Oceana to the mouth of the Pentwater River. March 30, 1871 agreement for consolidation with Detroit, Howell and Lansing Rail Road Company to form Detroit, Lansing and Lake Michigan Rail Road Company.
